We demand a global agreement to stop the dangers of climate chaos

1 December 2009

I am the Green Party General Election candidate but this letter has nothing to with my Party.

The UN Climate Talks start in Copenhagen on 7 December. Many people will be marching in London on Saturday 5 December to demand a global agreement by world leaders to eliminate the dangers of climate chaos.

If you’ve not marched before this will be legal, fun and very important.

Details of the March can be found on the stopclimatechaos website. Speeches should start at Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park (nearest tube station Marble Arch) at noon from where we’ll move to nearby Grosvenor Square from where the March leaves at one. It will be over by 4.30 pm but people will start to drift off from 3 pm onwards.

On 5 December, my wife and I and a group of friends will be catching the 0959 out of Bracknell station. We’ll be in the third carriage from the front, having purchased a one day travel card. For identification purposes I’ll be wearing a green rosette but I’ll remove this after we leave Ascot station so as to confirm that the March is NOT a Green Party event.

It’s all to get the politicians to ensure that the next generation will be able to lead full lives.
